"Missing" Pieces

Does satan ever make you feel like there is a piece to your puzzle that is missing? Has he ever made you feel like there is something you absolutely need in order to live the life Christ desires for you to live? Or to live the life you have always desired? I am here to tell you, you are in good company. He has tried to do the same to me and many others in this world (both believers and nonbelievers!)

Satan wants you and I to believe that God has all the pieces to the puzzle, except for one. He tries to make us feel as if we are missing something or someone in our lives, and, unless we have that one thing or that one person we will not be satisfied. I am here to you: that is a lie. Consider what Jesus says in Isaiah 49:23, “Those who hope in Me will not be disappointed.” In other words, Jesus knows exactly how to give you the life you desire. Christ even says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Scripture also says in Psalm 34:8, “Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in Him!” You see? God is good! And He only does good! God will never disappoint you nor will He ever give you something that will make you worse off. God only makes you and me better.

What I want you to understand, as you read this, is that not only does God have all the RIGHT pieces to the puzzle, but He is creating beautiful masterpiece in your life. The devil will never stop trying to substitute the pieces God has for our lives with something else that will completely ruin the picture. Look at nature. Consider the sunrise, the sunset, or even the mountains. After looking at the beauty of nature, how can you say God does not know how to create a beautiful picture? What if one of those sceneries was a puzzle (and the puzzle represents your life?) God knows what pieces (i.e relationships, careers, contacts, events, etc.) will create that picture. And guess what? God has ALL the pieces! None of

them are missing! The problem is, satan tries to get us to believe that: (1) God does not have all the pieces and (2) God is not even creating a beautiful picture for our lives. But satan is a liar. That is all he ever does! Lie! He deceived Adam and Eve in the garden (Genesis 3.) He tried to steer Jesus off track by tempting Him (Matthew 4.) Had Christ given in, we would never have experienced the beauty of salvation. John 8:44 says, “[The devil]…has always hated the truth. There is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Contrast this verse with 1 John 1:5 that says, “God is light and there is no darkness in Him at all.” Jesus and satan have two very different characters. Jesus is pure and only tells the truth, but satan is a liar.

I want to encourage each of you today. Believe in Jesus Christ. Satan will try every day to convince you that “a piece of the puzzle” is missing from your life. He will try to convince you that God does not have all the pieces to create a beautiful picture for your life. Please, do not believe the devil. Give God a chance. Taste and see that He is good! How can you know whether something is good or not, unless you try it? God promises you that if you do, you will not be disappointed.

God bless!
